What we do
WHAT WE DO
Partnering with Artisanal miners in the our communities and collaborating with other mining companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been the main reason why ASSOCIATION MINIÈRE DE SHABUNDA still stands high for all the years and today.
Our company activities aim and focus the well being and improving the lives of the people through trading the minerals for the revenue needed to offer services that are necessary for a better community. Since we work hand in hand with the people who bring their precious metals to us , either to sell the goods on their behalf or buy from them at a reduced profit making price, ASSOCIATION MINIÈRE DE SHABUNDA takes the responsibility of providing services like healthcare, education, food and shelter to the people of the community to whom all the mineral resources in DR Congo belong.
Therefore, ASSOCIATION MINIÈRE DE SHABUNDA injects back part of the profits made from the sales of mineral resources in the community for its development, why would Democratic Republic of Congo be called a mineral rich country while its still under development. Its a mandate of all mining companies in the country to develop it instead of just exploiting it and taking its mineral resources.
Minerals we mine and deal in.
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) main economic resource is its mineral deposits; mining produces almost nine-tenths of total exports. Minerals found in DRC include copper, cobalt, zinc, cassiterite (the chief source of metallic tin), manganese, coal, silver, cadmium, germanium (a brittle element used as a semiconductor), gold, palladium (a metallic element used as a catalyst, and in alloys), uranium, and platinum.
ASSOCIATION MINIÈRE DE SHABUNDA is a fully registered and licenced mining company can offer all the above-stated minerals.
Cassiterite is a tin oxide mineral with a chemical composition of SnO2. It is the most important source of tin, and most of the world’s supply of tin is obtained by mining cassiterite
Tourmaline is one of the world’s most popular gemstones and it serves as a birthstone for the month of October. Because of its popularity, tourmaline is easy to find in jewellery stores. Well-formed tourmaline crystals are also valued by mineral specimen collectors. Specimens with attractive colours and crystal forms can sell for thousands of dollars.
The world’s production (supply) and consumption (demand) of copper have increased dramatically in the past 25 years. As large developing countries have entered the global market, demand for mineral commodities, including copper, has increased. Copper is one of the few metals that occur in nature in native form. Because of this, it was one of the first metals used by ancient peoples, and it continues to be an important metal today.
Diamonds are the world’s most popular gemstones. They are popular because of their optical properties or how it reacts with light. Other factors include its durability, fashion, custom, and aggressive marketing by we diamond producers.
Gold is a mineral resource that is highly prized by people because of its attractive color, its rarity, resistance to tarnish, and its many special properties some of which are unique to gold. No other element has more uses than gold. All of these factors help support a price of gold that is higher than all but a few other metals.
Quartz is the most abundant mineral in Earth’s crust extremely resistant to weathering, highly resistant to physical and chemical weathering and used to make timepieces because it vibrates at a precise frequency. Quartz chemical compound consisting of one part silicon and two parts oxygen. It is silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is the most abundant mineral found at Earth’s surface, and its unique properties make it one of the most useful natural substances.
